Summary

GrinOrDie does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. Everything happens locally on your Mac.

Camera Usage

GrinOrDie uses your Mac's built-in camera to detect facial expressions (smiling vs. not smiling) in real time. The camera feed is:

• Processed entirely on your device using Apple's Vision framework
• Never recorded, saved, or stored as images or video
• Never transmitted to any server, cloud service, or third party

Data Storage

GrinOrDie stores only the following on your device using macOS UserDefaults:

• Your preferences (TTS on/off, voice selection, sensitivity)
• Daily smile statistics (smile time per hour — no images or video)
• Calibration baseline data (numerical face metrics only)

This data never leaves your Mac.

Network

GrinOrDie makes no network requests. The app works entirely offline after installation. There is no analytics, no telemetry, no tracking of any kind.

Third Parties

The purchase process uses Stripe for payment. Stripe's privacy policy applies to the transaction. GrinOrDie itself has no access to your payment information.

License Key

After purchase, you receive a license key via email. The key is validated locally on your device. No server is contacted for validation.

Children

GrinOrDie is not directed at children under 13. The app does not collect any personal information from anyone, including children.
